Texas Brown Snake

Storeria dekayi ‘texana’
Trapido 1944
Gage Co., Nebraska. October 17, 2003.

Found crossing the road on a sunny afternoon in mid-fall. The photos are lost; pictures are of a texana from western Missouri. Subspecies have been sunk for Storeria dekayi, but I continue to recognize them anyway – they’ve been with me for most of my life.

My Flickr album for this species is here.

HerpMapper records for this species are here.
