Masticophis lateralis euryxanthus

Found in an open field amid rolling hills. The camera doesn’t do justice to the golden stripes on this serpent. Briefly lumped in Coluber but placed back in Masticophis by Myers et al. 2017, ‘Coalescent Species Tree Inference of Coluber and Masticophis‘. Copeia 105 (4): 642-650
