Asian Edible Frog

Hoplobatrachus rugulosus
(Wiegmann, 1834)
Lat Krabang, Thailand. February 17, 2016

My first look at this species was in the park behind my hotel in Lat Krabang, and then I later saw them in the wild in a number of places, including small bodies of stagnant water. The name is not joke – we saw a batch of these frogs being prepared for sale (limbs removed with a cleaver) in the night market in Lat Krabang.
