Faded Black-striped Snake

Coniophanes schmidti
Bailey, 1937
Yucatán, Mexico. June 30, 2016.

These small, solidly built rear-fanged snakes never offered to bite.  I’m not sure where the term ‘faded’ fits into the common name, every specimen I’ve seen has shown, sharp, contrasting colors.
