Florida Banded Water Snake

Nerodia fasciata pictiventris
(Cope 1895)
Miami-Dade Co., Florida. July 17, 2016.

I found several of these snakes in and around the Everglades. In that area, and in July, the mosquitoes are amazingly thick and nasty at night, making roadside photos a challenge.
