San Francisco Garter Snake

Thamnophis sirtalis tetrataenia
(Cope in Yarrow, 1875)
San Mateo Co., California. May 4, 2014.

A dream come true. Not only did I get to see multiple tetrataenia, but I got to spend a lot of time watching one forage along the edge of a brush line.

This species is featured in my Notes From The Field blog posts ‘San Francisco Garter Snake‘ and ‘Thamnopalooza‘.

My Flickr album for this species is here.
