Green Anaconda

Eunectes murinus
(Linnaeus, 1758)
Madre Selva field station, Depto Loreto, Peru. January 15, 2013.

My first anaconda was found in a small creek near our field station. Not too large, and not too small, the snake did not offer to bite as we took pictures. Seeing an anaconda in Amazonia brought a forty-year-old dream full-circle.
