Spectacled Caiman

Caiman crocodilus
(Linnaeus, 1758)
Madre Selva field station, Depto Loreto, Peru. January 11, 2011.

I occasionally see eye shine from caiman on the larger rivers at night, but they are much more common in quiet backwaters, oxbow lakes, and smaller rivers.
