Yucatán Milk Snake

Quintana Roo, Mexico. June 27, 2016.

This beautiful snake shows up now and then on the roads at night across the Yucatán peninsula. The largest specimen that I’ve seen measured 54 inches in length (see Flickr album link below).  Removed as a subspecies of triangulum, and elevated to species by Ruane et al. 2014.
