Baja California Lyre Snake

Trimorphodon lyrophanes
(Cope, 1860)
San Diego Co., California. March 30, 2012.

This subadult lyre snake was found under a flat rock on a rocky hillside. Formerly a subspecies of Trimorphodon biscutatus, it was elevated to species status in 2008.  See:
