Central American Boa

Boa imperator
DAUDIN, 1803
Sonora, Mexico. August 23, 2011.

Hiking up in the tropical deciduous forest of the Sierra Madre, we stopped to take a break where a rocky wash crossed the trail. Here we found the first live boa of the trip among the rocks (pictured as found). That night we found another boa crossing the road, and later, we found a juvenile (pictured) crawling on the patio outside our hotel room.
