Santa Catalina Island Rattlesnake

Crotalus catalinensis
Cliff, 1954
Isla Santa Catalina, Baja Sur, Mexico. September 3, 2013.

The rattlesnake without a rattle. Photographed in situ as the sun sank towards the horizon. After dark, more of these rattlesnakes emerged from hiding, and some were observed crawling in bushes several feet off the ground.
